Kitchen Breakfast Nook - Novel Chairs

A few weeks agone I filled you lot inwards on my plans for a piffling upgrade inwards the Breakfast Nook. My dilemma was trying to determine what type of side chairs to use. Many of you lot voted for the Eames mode chairs, too I was truly about making that order, but something was belongings me back. I simply couldn't quite settle on those for sure.

Then, terminal week, a designer friend that knew I liked this mode texted me a photograph that said "They accept these chairs at TJ Maxx!", then afterward dinner that nighttime I drug the household unit of measurement over to banking concern check them out. They got approving from the husband, (actually all he wanted was something company that wasn't former too creaky similar ALL of our chairs accept e'er been!), too I brought 2 identify to elbow grease out. Because you lot know, when TJ gets chairs, they entirely larn 2.

Overnight I decided that I truly did similar them amongst my table, too then over the adjacent few days I tracked downward four to a greater extent than at the other TJ locations all over town. :)

The frame was a pretty rustic, whitewashed, raw-wood looking finish. I liked it, but I didn't similar it for my space. Even though I didn't desire it to precisely fit the table, I wanted it to blend a piffling to a greater extent than nicely. The edges of the record weren't sealed super good against the wood, but it was plenty that if I was careful along the edges at that spot wasn't whatsoever bleed through to the upholstery.

After protecting the fabric, I used a stone oil sandpaper (100 grit) over the frame to stone oil it up. The master copy complete was somewhat slick too glossy, then I needed to stone oil it upwardly then the stain would accept something to see on to. Then, I simply rubbed on Minwax's Special Walnut amongst a rag.

After letting that dry, I sprayed a coat of polyurethane to seal the stain. The complete isn't perfect, the stain soaked inwards ameliorate inwards some areas ameliorate than others, but I truly similar the variation too dimension that gives it. I mean value it truly gives them some grapheme too makes them look old.

It wasn't a huge change, but it was enough. Now I experience similar the chairs move much ameliorate amongst the table.

Confession...I've entirely done these three. Three to a greater extent than to go.

Now, I simply take away to larn busy working on the loveseat that I'm going to role at the caput of the table, too I accept ane to a greater extent than piffling accessory that I programme to add. Stay tuned!
